Job Summary

OVERVIEW

Provide professional, friendly & empathetic customer service in a fast-paced environment. Communicate with people via telephone and listen to understand their situation and guide them to available services.

Area of expertise (Skills)

  • Communicate with customers through telephone

  • Provide information in response to inquiries about their situation

  • Document disposition of call through applicable database and/or reporting

  • Provide assistance in navigating the website

  • Completing task within client timelines

  • Additional tasks and projects as assigned

  • Be responsible for meeting or exceeding client expectations on key performance indicators

Other Skills and Experiences (Min)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must give consent and pass the required Background Check

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English & Spanish - reading, speaking, and writing

  • Experience within a call center environment not required but a plus

  • Ability to empathize with a person and their situation while providing available services

  • Attend entire training period and work assigned schedule

  • Ability to navigate a computer, type, copy/paste, and speak on the phone

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to customer service

  • Pleasant and professional telephone etiquette

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to navigate through multiple software systems and applications while assisting people on the phone

  • Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform required tasks

  • Ability to identify and help implement continuous improvement of processes, skills, and customer service interactions

  • Take-charge attitude: capable of taking on the challenges that providing excellent customer service can present

  • Flexible, open-minded, and solution-oriented, with the ability to handle different human interaction scenarios appropriately

  • Ability to de-escalate an upset person

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced call center environment, with strong emphasis on multi-tasking while actively listening to a person to understand their situations so the appropriate solutions are provided

  • Problem-solving and strong analytical abilities

  • High level of creativity, energy, and latitude

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills

  • Strong computer and computer software knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Intermediate - exceptional typing skills

  • Punctual attendance is expected

  • High level of professionalism and ability to respond to customer inquiries promptly
